Some really good pieces of art - as well as one or two of the five floors that didn't really "do it for us". The real highlight was the exhibition of the "Prague Epic" by Mucha. Mucha probably best known for his Art Nouveau advertising work such as the Sarah Bernhardt poster, but this exhibition is of maybe 20 paintings... More

I have been to this gallery many times- they change the exhibits fairly often and you will always find something unexpected and surprising in the installations that they have. There are various types of art, so everyone who enjoys modern art can find something to their liking. The space itself is very interesting too- the building is multi-story with an... More

During our first visit to Prague we spent a very enjoyable unhurried 5 hours in this marvellous gallery. On alighting from Tram 14 at Vltavská stop and seeing the plain building across the road we said this could not possibly be the National Gallery. But the nondescript exterior did not prepare us for the amazing gallery within the soaring 7-storey... More

This museum was surprisingly awesome! I went there because I wanted to see a couple exceptional works I knew they had, but was amazed by the extent of their collection--it's huge and takes a long time to appreciate properly. The front desk staff is a little prickly, but I don't think they are rude as much as they don't speak... More

Sadly overlooked, this building shelters the modern art section of the National Gallery. The collection is pretty good. Only shame about a fairly badly managed entrance area, where the surly ladies don't help you much in your orientation but insist you leave your jacket with them .. By the way, this inter-war building is an art jewel itself, especially the... More

Whilst the outside has been restored with a dour lack of charm, the interior shows the original flair. The two central light wells are stunning and the scale of the building breathtaking, much remains unused. The collection is a major holding of French art, which includes many masterpieces. The Czech art up to 1939 is fascinating and unknown to many,... More

Extensive collection of modern and contemporary art and sculpture - the Rodins were terrific. A bit of a way out from the Old Town but good tram and metro connections. The building itself is very interesting.

This museum offering a great collection of modern art, houses in a building that you will hardly notice from the street. On the inside the building is wonderful, but it could do with a touch of paint. Seven huge floor are filled with amazing art pieces. We spent hours walking around being treated to a great collection. Having lunch on... More
