not everyone can direct you as they don't use term monastery just klaster. You do need to pay to get in. And basiclaly see two libraries. But these aren't regular libraries-sort of like the Morgan library in NY if old JP had had even more money! If you're tired of craning you neck to look at ceilings \(see Vatican) not... More

The museum can be interesting if you come with low expectations, but "the halls" - the philosophical and the library are total waste of time and money. It costs 80 kroner (about 20 $), but you can't really enter the halls, just to see from afar. I felt like I was paying 20$ for a cabinet museum (there's a small... More

For 70czk you get a limited tour through some rooms filled with curiositie , but only a glimpse into the beautiful libraries. Photos cost extra as well. Still worth doing but only just.

Strahov Monastery is located at tram stop Pohorelec on # 22. The highlight is the library. The views of Prague and Petrin Hill from here are spectacular, especially on a clear day.

I mainly go to the brewery part, but the whole complex (especially the library) is worth going to. Definitely worth a trip.

The monastery has a couple of beautiful rooms to see...key word "see"... you can't go in them. The items they have on display take roughly 20 mins to looks through. They have 1000's of old books that are off limits as well. Neat to walk through but Prague has too many other things to see to waste money here... If... More

The Premonstratensians or Norbortines library at Strahov Monastery (Strahov Klaster) is one of the most spectacular libraries in Central Europe --- the 2nd nicest in fact, with Melk (Austria) being nicer only due to the fact it is right on the Danube. If you have the time, do make sure to see this often overlooked wonder. Next to Prague Castle,... More

While we were dissapointed that the church was not open, the views from there were awsome. The library should not be missed and we found the miniature museum interesting.

Visited the library and could not believe the detail in the frescos on the ceiling. Books dating back to the twelfth century fill the floor to ceiling bookshelves. A very beautiful library, left me speechless when I first saw it - highly recommended.
