If you know and enjoy Smetana's music (or if you are curious about his work) this is a great experience. I found the staff very helpful. The exhibition is extremely well done and much nicer than I expected. Plus it is located on his beloved Vlatva River, just south of Charles Bridge. Very reasonable entry fee.

I was the only visitor so could wander around undisturbed. Small museum with a low entry free of 50 ck. Photos are extra! You need to be interested in local Czeck classical music to really appreciate this, but it was nicely put together and the chance to hear his music was a nice touch.

Love Smetana's music so decided to visit this museum. Lots of info about Smetana both written and aural. In particular there was a very nice room where you could listen to specific compositions using a laser pointer to activate the music on each of a dozen or so music stands. This was fairly complicated and our Czech hostesses while willing,... More

The museum is located south of the Charles Bridge on the east side and you'll need to walk through the outdoor seating area of a restaurant to get there. The cost is $50 Kc / person and if you want to take pictures, it'll cost you another $30 Kc. Upon entry, we were given a thin binder with information in... More

Fleeting visit to Prague, having visited this museum on a number of occasions. Arrived before ten, but we were shown the door - literally! by a sourfaced woman who was behind the reception desk. We departed quickly, and returned later, as we love this place. It was then poiinted out to us -yes, pointed to the notice telling us that... More

A little difficult to locate as the entance is located in an outdoor cafe area near the Charles Bridge. In the former Old Town Waterworks, it is housed in a couple spacious rooms with an excellent vantage point overlooking the River Vltava. This exhibition was interesting to us as we are really interested in Smetana. What is there is well... More
