The AMAZING National Theatre of the Czech Republic is great to visit and walk around, even if you are not attending a show. Beautiful juxtaposition of old building and new, with art installations out at the front when I visited (ballet from Russia with a really cool caravan)....loved it!

We stumbled upon the National Theatre, when looking for something to eat. The building is truly magnificent, but is not seen to advantage as the other streets have encroached and blocked the long distance views.

Yes, the operas do have a Czech bias, but if those operas include Rusalka, the Bartered Bride or any of Janacek's 5 greatest operas that is not a problem.
