The original museum is closed for renovation until late 2013 or later (per some of the working staff). And do NOT visit the POS next to it. Not worth it.

This is the best nature museums that I'd seen. Although it is not modern the collection is great. Fossils sections are great. I advise to rent a audio guide since labels are not in english

The exterior is very grand and you can take a beautiful picture across the river. Inside it is gold and gives you a very grand feel. I watched a Czech Opera there and people were all dressed up very well and the place nicely done up. Be sure to dress appropriately for plays at this place.

Made the walk down Wenceslas Square only to find it closed. No sign of when it will reopen.

Unfortunately, we did not check any guide sources before heading to the museum to find it closed. We did stop over to the new museum to see the Inventor's exhibit and the butterflies. We skipped the butterflies and spent a couple of hours learning about Czech inventors and inventions. Honestly, I found this incredibly fascinating and felt my money was... More

We had visited Prague before and missed the National Museum and vowed to visit it next time. Sadly we find it had closed since our last visit for extensive renovations, which it clearly needs. We decided to examine the whole exterior of the fine magnificent building and could see the damage that time has wrought upon it, and it was... More

Was able to get to the place but ended up taking pictures of the facade only because the museum is close since it is being renovated and will open in 5 years time! Good thing, the fountain infront is working.

We went to the new museum, next to the old one as this is closed for refurbishing- there were only 2 exhibitions, both of which were absolute rubbish! we paid 60Kc to get in and it was definitely not worth this. The best part of the experience was getting to use the loo!
