The market square is a large open area with the Cloth Hall occupying the central part of it. This was originally a trading establishment, but now houses lots of stall selling souvenirs, which are mainly locally produced and represent Krakow/Poland as opposed to stalls selling generic rubbish from China which is the norm is so many other places. People are so civilized and the square is so clean ... i love it

We spent several hours there browsing thru the stores, grabbing a bite to eat and taking pictures. There is so much to see plan to spend several hours after you view Wawel Castle and Cathedral.

We were absolutely charmed by Krakow's historic centre. Beautiful buildings, fantastic atmosphere, fabulous food. Just walking through those charming narrow streets was magical.
