An interesting fortification, part rebuilt, part original. Lots of stalls selling religious icons and paintings nearby in summertime.

I've visited Kraków 3 times now and each time the Florian gate has been swamped with beggars, hawkers and general nuisances. It's a big archway that you walk through to get to the barbican. Save yourself the hassle and walk through Planty park to get there. Worth taking a couple of photo's of from a distance then enjoy the rest... More

This site is truly amazing. Take one of the free walking tours at 11:00 and get the scoop on it. Very historically significant, and quite a beautiful piece of architecture! =)

An imposing old fortress gate on the edge of the old town made attractive today by the musicians playing under the arch and a charming coffee shop beside the city wall

You will probably end up walking through it many times. Nice reminder of old Krakow.

Enter the old city through the most ancient gate in Krakow, feel the history and relax in the park around. We were there in the period of LISTOPAD -'november' in Polish - the month of falling leaves and that was exactly what we experienced there. Noble architecture, the spirit of centuries, rustling leaves on a warm and sunny day -... More

often musicans here at the entrance, once through the arch turn right and you can see a wall of paintings, also lots of tour guides here, these are not your usual pestering guys, if you can walk then do so as you can see a lot more by foot and this city is very flat

You walk through St Florian's Gate to either get into the city or to go out towards the Barbican. The old town walls are on either side and on one side there are artists displaying their works. On the day we visited there some musicians playing what our guide told us were very rude folk songs!
