Zakopane is a must see village in southeren Poland. Home of the wooden buildings. Great shopping and restaurants and interesting sites. A flea market like experience is a must...native people selling their wares from clothing, to sheeps wool to leather goods, food and jewelry. You must try the serki cheese as well.

Found the the leather products to be good value. There are ice-cream vendors everywhere despite the climate!

If you look for peace - go into valleys, eg. Dolina Białego or Kościeliska Valley. If you need authentic folkor - go to Murzasihle (small village near Zakopane) and take part in a mass on Sunday morning. If you don't have money to spend - just don't go there!

Here is a real melting pot of European culture. Still in Poland, up in the mountains straddling other countries, what an ideallic spot. Sometimes modern and other times old world. The marching double lines of school children singing their songs while dressed in suspender shorts were adorable.

I've been to Zakopane 3 times in the last 4 years and love it every time i go there, can never get bored. I've been there in the summer where the weather was 25-28c and in the winter where the whole place was covered in snow with temps of -15 to -20, but believe me it doesn't feel that cold... More

With the altitude, the return trip back up the whole length of the street might leave you feeling unexpectedly tired

This is one of the nicest street in Poland I think. I love Krupowki for having so many variaty of restaurants to choose from and so many shops. The architecture off the buildings is breath taking and the views of the mountains from the street are also amazing. I can not wait to go to Zakopane there again!

Nice long street where all the shops and restaurants are located. Large market selling the typical tourist things at the end.

really quaint; great selection of bars and restaurants. The wooden houses looked charming in the lights and snow. Really helpful people. Very competativ prices - you can have a 3 course qoog qaulity meal with a beer for under £20. Lots of street entertainment.
