A short tram ride up will take you to the top of the Gubałówka mountain. Amazing views on a clear day. There is an attraction on top where you can slide down a metal serpent slide on little race cars. We did not eat at the restaurant but I can only imagine it is overpriced. As are the trinkets for... Go up the funicular railway and you're into a bizarre world of wooden inns serving beer and kebabs, in summer zillions of little stalls lining the road usually selling tourist tat, lots of entertainment for children of all ages, but best of all, a very understated cafe with wooden benches to admire the view of the mountains across the valley.... We travelled up this very high hill/mountain by the tram style car - very cheap and a smooth ride; maybe 5 minutes to the top and you can view downhill at the town of Zakopane as you are elevated. Passing by a type of adventure park to our right, we arrived at the top to be greeted by perfect weather... More

went up a funicular and it was a nice day, though cold, and we had a coffee break - everywhere seems overpriced, out to fleece the tourists, i suppose! it wasn't too busy, so we could have a relaxed time admiring the view. then we walked to butorowy wierch which was a nice walk - more than 30 minutes, passing... A short hike or cable car takes you to the top of Gubolowka and on a clear day one of the best mountain vistas I've seen looking towards the Tatras above Zakopane

I would not say the piste is narrow as a previous reviewer stated, it is at least 50m wide top to bottom. It is always in good condition and safety is as good as anywhere i've seen in Poland, generally better than in other countries (That may seem surprising but it's true, also virtually every run in Poland is lit... If the weather is good and there is no time for longer trips (Kasprowy Wierch or Dolina Koscieliska for example) during your time in Zakopane You can venture a trip to Gubalowka. The rack railway starts in the city centre, behind a market at the down end of famous Krupowki Street. The ride is short and there are no queues... More
