An emotional museum that certainly touches the heart, understanding what Poland went through in the 1900s
I did O level world history but really did not appreciate how bad things were in Warsaw until I visited there. This is well worth a visit. One thing I liked is that it was open for free Saturday night until 1 am and was full of young people, teenagers, wanting to learn more. Much optimism here today and hope...

You should definitely check out this museum while in Warsaw. It is very insightful and well done.
Lots of historic displays, documenting the plight of the Polish people. Very poor crowd control,"organized chaos" Don't miss the outside gardens.
I allocated 3 hrs, ended up staying for 5 hrs. The stories, photos, videos and sound effects were engaging and evocative. Kudos to those who put this together, you are honoring those who sacrificed much for liberty and autonomy.
I went there 3 times, because each time the experience was so touching that I could not complete the tour properly. They managed to set up a "sensorial" path, leading the visitor to really immerge in another time. More than a normal museum, I lived the feelings, the life, the daily struggling of all the people that made the Warsaw...

We had high hopes and expectations of this museum after being refered by some one who had had a fantastic time visiting.
We arrived at 9am along with a few school groups. This wasn't a problem until the tour leaders/guides pushing in front of us and wouldn't let us read or see any of the displays. We walked ahead to...

when I was there I thought that going there would be boring, but I saw that I was wrong... It has been more than two years but I have still remember what I learned in that museum...If you find opportunity of going there, dont miss it..be sure that you will enjoy and learn about history..
The atmosphere of the museum was quite well done, with photos everywhere and recordings of actual witnesses. Everything has English subtitles. But the chronology was muddled, and there weren't enough dates provided.
But I can't rate it "very good", which four blobs would mean. There's a lot to learn here, but it's very dark and a bit badly organised - the exploration route isn't well set out chronologically. Suffers from large numbers of bored school parties chasing each other around, but that's endemic to museums everywhere.
