Yes, I love old town. I think the Royal Castle is a must. However, if you are up to taking a taxi, I think you get a better picture of the rebuilding of the old town by going to the Warsaw Rising Museum ul. Gryybowska 79. When we visited the museum I had the privilege of visiting with an old... more

Old Town Square is truly beautiful! I admit that I had the idea that Warsaw would not have something so beautiful. Boy, was I wrong! Depending on how you enter Old Town, you look around and are in awe of these beautiful clean buildings and cobblestone roads. The monuments are just clean and beautiful and the shops are just quaint... more

Warsaw's Old Town will shatter every conception you may have of Warsaw as a heavily-bombed, burned out, communist-grey depressing place. It sure did for us. Instead of the images I had in my head, it turns out the real Warsaw was aglow in color, with flower-lined patio dining areas packed with tourists and locals alike, flowers hanging from Parisian-looking balconies,... more

Old Town is the highlight of Warsaw (for whatever that's worth). It was rebuilt after Germany destroyed it during WWII and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. However, you have feeling of being in Disneyland when you realize this is a recreation (compared to original old towns like Colmar, France). However, definitely visit Warsaw's Old Town! It's the highlight... more

This section of town was completely reconstructed after the Nazi bombing of Warsaw, from the original plans drawn up in the 1600s. You would never know that what you see is a reconstruction. Make sure to visit some of the wonderful restaurants that face on the... more

To me there is no other way to descrbe the feeling of being there. We went to old town in the afternoon and ended up in the square in the early evening and it... more

Unfortunately missed the chance to go during day time, but in the evening it was so wonderful and lively... so many people... however this may have been because there was a festival type thing on and an awesome Warszawa ska band was playing. Just avoid the kebabs!! Haha... ended up having a gelati for dinner instead. The buildings there are... more

The old town is situated right next to the Royal Castle in Warsaw. Completely destroyed during WWII and then rebuilt to historical expectations, it is truly magnificent. Plenty of shops and restaurants offering everything from Kababs, Mexican, Japanese, and traditional Polish fair. In the summer which Is when I visited last you can expect the square to be filled with... more
