It is amazing to think that this area was devastated and has been totally recreated. There is so much to see.Climb up the viewing tower at St Ann's church to get panaramic views. It does get busy especially with tours and school groups but it is worth it.There are plenty of cafes here too and they are not expensive.

I was surprised how lively Warsaw is. Seems like no recession here. Nice to walk around, lots of outdoor restaurants, good food and wine, amber souvenirs.

This is a touristic but nice part of Warzaw. Plenty of places to take a beer or eat something local/international. Other parts of Warsaw is not so beautiful so this place is nice and well kept. I guess you should be aware of pick pockets but otherwise it feels safe.

With the best of motives, the people who reconstructed Warsaw after WW2 have produced a weird inauthentic faux Disneyworld sort of place. The colours are much too bright, for one thing. If the buildings are meant to be medieval, they should be stained, smoky, crooked. The rigidly symmetrical bricks, modern pointing, airy spaces are utterly unlike how they must have... More

It's not a big area and you soon see round and run out of things to do. Hard to know how authentic it is, since the whole place was rebuilt in communist times after the Germans systematically destroyed it in 1944.

Between this area and the outstanding Royal Route (featuring beautiful palaces and government buildings), you have enough to enjoy for at least a few days. Best time to visit is definitely summer when the patios and flowers are out. We had guide show us around and tell us about the sights, it was very enjoyable. The whole town was destroyed... More

Compared with some other cities, this is not original, however, just to see how the city was rebuilt after the war was so impressive. I also liked how I never saw any McDonald's nor Starbucks here. Felt I was transported in time.

The Old Town is definitely worth of a couple of trips. See the mermaid, take a free walking tour, and enjoy sitting back and relaxing at one of the cafes!

After seeing how much of this area was flattened during a visit to the Warsaw Rising museum, it was inspiring to see the effort that was made to bring the Old City back to its current condition. Visiting in nice weather meant lots of people wandering the streets and enjoying the outdoor restaurants, and overall a pleasant environment with many... More

You would not have any idea that this was only recently - comparatively speaking arisen from the ashes and rubble - it is a sight to behold and well worth the journey from the UK
