the hike up is steep and the views from the castle are fab but the contents of the castle are not worth the admission price in both our opinions. the best views probably ARE once inside, so be certain to take a camera.

Even if you reach the parking lot, therre is a steep climb up cobblestones to get to the castle. Stay for the views, enjoy some coffee from the terrace, visit the castle's winery and vie the multimedia show detailing the castle's history. You can hike all the way up from the lake! This is one of the teason's to visit...

Interesting little castle worth a visit while walking around lake Bled affording excellent views of the lake and the Julian Alps, which still had snow on when I visited in mid June (2003).
Grad bled is a typical medieval small castle, overlooking the town and lake - and what a view, on a nice day! The parking is very close to the entrace, so it's is to get there, and it is worth a visit.
It is a long walk up many stairs to the castle, but if you want an amazing view of the lake and surrounding areas, it is well worth it. The museum inside the castle does not have much to offer, but it is worth a brief browsing nonetheless if you are interested in how the lake and surrounding areas came...

Even if you are not interested in the exhibit of the history of the castle, this is a must for the views - truly breath-taking. If you are really into hiking you can walk up from the town below. However, there is a parking lot near the castle which I recommend. There are still plenty of steps to give you...

I personally did not like the castle ruins or the museum.
I loved this castle! not only was it beautiful but it's right on lake bled and you have a great view for photos. Inside there's not a ton of art but the art/artifacts that are there, are very unique. My favorite part was the jewelry section.
Long stip walk, there is literraly nothing inside, just walls, with some art effects, but in such small quantity, and really nothing special
Its a long way up if you walk from Bled, but worth the walk. Its a lot smaller inside than it looks for the outside. Lovely views over the lake and Bled. History museum very interesting, wine cellar nice wine
