My husband and I have just returned from a 2 week vacation through parts of Europe. One of the highlights of our trip was the cooking class with Agnes and Istvan in their home in Budapest. The market tour was fabulous which Agnes brought to life for us with explanations of the history and culture of the market. The preparation... More

While this cooking class was a perfectly decent way to spend my afternoon in Budapest, I left feeling like the cost was much too high. The 99 euro fee (about $140 US) was much more than I'd paid for cooking classes in the past. (For example, I recently took a four-hour cooking class here in the US that cost $70... More

Dear ginger619, Let me start by reminding you and all our guests that we offer a 100% money back guarantee, an offer which maybe helped the unhappy Italians to be a little less so. We know we can’t make everybody happy all of the time, but we really do try. Unfortunately, price-wise, you came at a bad time for the... More

Agnes meet us at the world market with a basket for each of us. After a leisurely tour of all 3 floors, we shopped for the ingredients of the meal we were to prepare. Agnes was very informative and answered all our questions thoroughly and introduced us to local tastings. After a short trip via cab, we arrived at their... More

Agnes and Steven met us at the market and we spent 60 min there sampling foods, purchasing food for our class and having them explain what all the items are. we then drove to their apt where we had appetizers and then could eat the yogurts we bought. we then made goulash soup, chicken paprika w/ dumplings and, for dessert,... Although pricey, we thoroughly enjoyed our time cooking with Agnes and Istvan, a lovely couple. Not only did we learn to cook Hungarian style but we tasted some of the well known wines and enjoyed learning about our hosts and their life in Hungary. After cooking our meal we all sat down to eat together which was like being invited... More

This class is a great introduction to Hungarian home cooking. My friend and I took this class, and we really enjoyed getting to know Agnes and learning a bit about Hungarian food. It was nice to get out of the tourist center a little bit and understand a bit more about the culture in Budapest. Our favorite recipes were the... More

We spent 4 hours with Agnes and Istevan in early Dec. It was such fun to meet them and learn about their lifestyle and how to "cook like a local". We made cold fruit soup, stuffed cabbage, and apple pie. It was all so good, and it was fun to meet them and learn how they cook; everything was from... More

On a cold afternoon in December, this was a great way to spend an afternoon, eating well and learning more about the place we were visiting from two lovely locals! After choosing the dishes we wanted to cook, it was an original way to sample the local cuisine whilst learning about its history in probably the most authentic setting possible!... More

What a wonderful experience. Food was awesome, and the conversation was great. I learned to cook like my grandmother. Home was very nice, easy to find and felt like I knew them forever. I hope I do. Must do, if you are going to Budapest!

Visited Budapest with my mother, sister and son and chose to try the Culinary Hungary Home Cooking Class. So glad we did! Had the great pleasure of meeting Agnes and Istvan who warmly made us all feel at home and brought us the memorable experience of cooking (and eating) some great Hungarian food. For those that want to revisit the... More
