Definitely work in time to see a performance if at all possible, and experience opera in a rich setting as it was meant to be enjoyed. The Hungarian Opera Company is excellent and is known for their outstanding... More

The building is beautiful and we went along to see Tosca. Although we didn't understand a single word, there was a good atmosphere but was builing hot in the balcony.

A must to visit; worth pre booking in busy holiday periods; and do book also the mini opera which takes place immediately after; and do book the correct language you wish for the tour. Photo opportunity beyond belief if you also book a photo ticket.

Don't be misled by the outside of the building - the inside is highly spectacular! Of course, many of the opera performances and ballets are fantastic, and extremely affordable (some of the lower categories of seats offer great views and acoustics nevertheless!).

We were on a walking tour and were being shown the inside of the Opera House and took a chance on seeing if any tickets might be available to see the Opera Carmen. Good luck for us they still had a couple of seats left. This was our first experience with opera and we loved it! The seats were not... More

We thought we'd try out Madame Butterfly whilst in Budapest and were not disappointed. The sub titles didn't help though so we didn't understand a word they were singing about! Fantastic venue/atmostphere. Can recommend champagne on the verandah

Saw madame Butterlfy - good opera but no English subtitles - so be familiar with the story. The interior is very beautiful! I can recommend this to everyone - also no opera lovers!

A small, marvelous opera house. Easy access by subway, a classic, beautiful venue with great acoustics. Enjoyed many great performances here.
