Somewhat interesting museum but should be free or less expensive to visit. Afterall it is simply a national museum. more
The basement has remains from Roman times, mostly statues, inscriptions and mosaics. The ground floor describes life in Hungary in prehistoric times. We went to the National Museum just to view the 20th century section and found it very mixed. The early years are covered better than the later years, which is disappointing. For example, Hungary's extreme right wing ruler, Admiral Horthy - who took the country to war in support of Hitler - is treated very sympathetically. There is NO MENTION... more
