The Gellert Statue on Gellert Hill is not so much a destination in and of itself as it is a pleasant journey. The statue itself is unremarkable, but the woods surrounding it cover beautiful hills filled with horse chestnut trees which are a lovely yellow in the fall. Great to go to on a clear day. Hop on bus stops here for 20 mins which is just enough time to buy a drink and get some photos.

On a fine day there are great views of both sides of Danube. Views from different locations. Several ways and tracks to go up. long climb up, but discovered on arrival that there is a road up! nice views, but fishermans bastion has better ones. museum at top would be interesting if you were interested in war history

Well, this was actually pretty nice place to go. Some tips: - Climb there, don't use tourist busses. - Go to the bunker museum. - Take the camera with you and take pictures from whole city.

Take a public tram up from just around the corner from the Gellert Hotel and it's no sweat. Walking down was lovely through the greenery

Painfull walk from the bottom but up it was quite boring nice views etc. Take the bus down moore fun and I ended up eating some nice indianfood for less than 10E for 2 ppl.
