This is a really nice way to spend a few hours in the Buda hills. It is fantastic to see the children all dressed in their railway uniforms, taking their roles very seriously, but having fun too. It is a very plesasant journey for both adults and children. more

our 3 year old loved it. we liked the occasional views. took the villamos to get there (56 without difficulty from Moskva ter) and the cog railway which was fun, but made for a really long day when there was actually lots of parking when we got to the main station. more

We rode the Children's Railway in Nov of 2007. I'd suggest this as a relaxing way to spend an afternoon in the Buda hills. Getting there is not as difficult as it might seem. Walk from Moscow Square to the vernicular railway, then a short walk on to the Childrens Railway. A fantastic ride through the hills, all enhanced by the enthusiastic youngsters working on the trains. After the noise and bustle of Budapest, this was a relaxing way to spend half a day.... more
