normafa is a beautiful area of the city. if you've got some extra time, this is an easy way to see some of the real beauty of the city. the train is operated by children and nice to see something positive that remains from the old days. more

We did this twice :) Our 4 years old just loved it and so did we. Children who worked there were very polite and friendly. They were also very professional and I could say that they wore their uniforms with pride. As our hotel was near Normafa stop we used it to get on the train (bus 90/90A from Moszkva... more

This is a really nice way to spend a few hours in the Buda hills. It is fantastic to see the children all dressed in their railway uniforms, taking their roles very seriously, but having fun too. It is a very plesasant journey for both adults and children. more

Guidebooks say to take tram #56 from Mozkva Ter to the start of the Cog railway, then onward to the Children's Railway. The tram tracks were torn up when we visited, so a ride on #56... more

Getting there is not as difficult as it might seem. Walk from Moscow Square to the vernicular railway, then a short walk on to the Childrens Railway. A fantastic ride through the hills, all enhanced by the enthusiastic youngsters working on the trains. After the noise and bustle of Budapest, this was a relaxing way to spend half a day.... more
