Just returned from a trip to Budapest (May 2012) and we stopped at the Gellert baths. Overall, I enjoyed it and would do it again. As noted in many other reviews, the architecture and history are awesome. Also as noted in other reviews, the staff (especially at the towel/bathing suit desk) are not. Rude and argumentative. But don't let that... More

Visiting spa is a must. This one has stunning interior around the main pool. I loved outside area with the pool that makes waves every hour. The only drawback is the price - way too much for swimming.

Beautiful place to relax! Love the style of the bathhouse - beautiful mosaics and hat i really liked were the beautiful gargoyles - i just love those statues! I can understand others guests when they say it's very difficult to find your way! It's compareble with a labyrinth! But once you are in the baths - there is no need... More

I had a surprising good time here. Spas are not really my thing but my wife really wanted to go, I am glad I did. These baths were built between 1912 and 1918 in the (Secession) Art Nouveau style and were expanded in the 50s. They have been senistivly and lightly renovated since but if you want a 21st century... We chose to visit the Gellert Baths even though they cost a little more than other options because of the history and architecture. We were impressed but found the logistics a little bit confusing (eg, where you get the towels, etc).

Only one small area of the baths are beautiful, and this part is only open to women on Sunday. And the staff is rude. Too expensive for what it is.

We went to the Gellert Baths with some trepidation having no experience at such a facility and no knowledge of Hungarian language. This turned out to be an overall marvelous experience. All of the thermal pools, the effervescent pool, sauna and steam rooms, plus the amazing outdoor pools including the wave pool make this a great half day of relaxation... More

Once again the actual building is very impressive. The baths themselves are ok, but honestly if you're a frequent traveler and familiar with Japanese hot springs, this is mediocre at best. But then, in Europe this type of facility isn't really part of the culture, generally, so it's unfair to compare... anyway, Gellert baths are build more in the mode... More

The Baths themselves were amazing, but the staff were extremely unhelpful and rude. We would never go back to that particular bath again. An electonic wristband system is in use for opening/closing the individual changing cubicles and for booked massages/therapies. We were told to put on the wristbands and to leave them on until we wanted to leave the premises.... More

In my opinion this is one of the most interesting places in Budapest. Gellert Baths is not only big outdoor swimming pool with heated water and artificial waves each 30 minutes, but in the first place beautiful indoor pools and breathtaking Turkish baths - separate for men and women. Turkish bats have wonderful mosaic and ornaments on the walls and... More
