Based on a review here, we took the "local" option of the Margaret Island ferry instead of the much more expensive river cruise option. We did the trip as a return, without getting off on the island, but this is also an option for the same price. Beaware that outside of the peak months the ferry only runs on weekends... more

We took a one hour, narrated evening cruise--the buildings and bridges are beautiful at night on both sides of the river. Impressive are the Castle and the Parliment. See the Danube both during the day and night. more

No trip to Budapest is complete without a Danube river cruise - preferably in the evening to see the city lit up. This was probably my favorite part of our visit to Budapest. We started our walk about 9:00pm on the Pest side near the Parliment Building.
