No trip to Budapest is complete without a Danube river cruise - preferably in the evening to see the city lit up. This was probably my favorite part of our visit to Budapest. We started our walk about 9:00pm on the Pest side near the Parliment Building. We went with the boat from pier 7. Very nice boat, excellent crew. There is guiding in almost any language in headsets. Some of the other companys have old run down boats, I recommend the newer ones with the glass dome front. more

I took a sunset river cruise of the Danube while visiting Budapest. It was the most undescribably beautiful experience of my life! All of the buildings on either side of the river are lit with thousands of lights at night and the boat tour played classical music. Breathtaking! more
