Only takes one minute to ride, so there isn't much time to enjoy the thrill/view, but it was a welcome alternative to the stairs up. Note, day transportation passes don't work here, you must pay extra

This is a fabulous way to get up to the castle area, we walked over the chain bridge and only had to queue for a few minutes, we bought a return ticket, the trip to the top was quite uneventful as we were in the rear of the 3 cars and didn't get to see much, however, coming down we... More

We didn't actually ride this famous funicular, but it was a joy just to watch it at work over the steep hill.

It's a short but fun ride in the old tram- worth doing if only to sit in an old tram built last century

Temporarily closed for maintenance duirng our visit. It looked as though it would have been great fun to take - if you don't mind heights!

Quite an expensive option to get to the top of the hill (you can walk it easily, there are paths/ramps all the way) but definitely a fun thing to do once.

Nice to try it. Do not queue at Chain bridge, choose the other direction from the top downwards. Rather expensive.

If u are able to, skip the 1700 forinth charge for this and instead take the stairs leading to the palace. The views and photo opportunities are much better than standing in line for an overpriced tram.

Don't miss this, the wooden trolly up the Castle Hill is a must do! It's a short trip up but you can see some gorgeous sites and it has a novelty feel. :D

The funicular looks cute, but unless you're a sucker for novelty (which we are!) then take photos at bottom and top, and just get the bus up there instead. The view is only good in the bottom first carriage by the way - we went in the middle and couldn't really see anything. It's only about £3 for the very... More
