Beautiful surroundings, great atmosphere. Unfortunately we could not enter the main building, because it was closed, so give a call before you visit.
Took a train from Gyor to visit, then took the long walk up to the abbey, no taxis, it was early December though. Parts of the abbey are beautiful and old, but it has been rebuilt over the years. An interesting place to visit if you had a lot of time in the area, otherwise use the time and explore...

The monastery has been almost completly rebuilt in recent years, the only section that shows some old gothic parts is the church. Probably the most beautiful parts are not accessible so it's not really worted a visit. It is way under the unesco site standard. the library is Interesting, so are some of the oldest documents of ancient hungarian language.
