Well, I was surprised to say the least. Very nice building, just added a new wing. Some nice treatments available and the service was good. The lake itself is very interesting to swim in. You have to get used to the water lilies that grow. Swimming outdoors was very nice and opens up a whole set of new experiences. In... More

I first went to Heviz in 2005 with a friend to use up a timeshare week. I then got married a short time after and returned to Heviz in 2007 to show my wife this magical place. We both loved it so much we bought an apartment there in 2010 which is situated 150m from the thermal lake. We now... More

We went to the springs on a freezing day, so being in the water was really nice, though if you ventured away from the cover spa house, the air was bitterly cold for any part of your body out of the water. Inside the spa house, masses of rude tourists await and there is a general feeling that the old... More

We took the train (you can also take a bus) from Budapest to the nearby town of Keszthely) then a (nice!) city bus to Heviz...easy. We had only one day to spend at the lake, and I wish we had had more time. Bobbing in the natural thermal lake amongst the water lilies was great fun. We rented our innertubes... More

We spent a week in this area and decided that we needed to experience the healing powers of the thermal lake. We decided that three hours at $12 a person should be plenty of time. When you check in, they give you a wrist band that opens your locker in the changing room. When your ready to enjoy the water,... More

The termal lake was a fun experience for my children. Swiming in a lake with lilipads was incredible for them. Make sure to take along some sort of a flotation device (regardless of how well you can swim), and take off all of you jewerly, specially silver. Enjoy your time there! There is also a swiming pool with children's activities... More

As an experienced spa-goer, I was still utterly charmed by the Heviz Thermal Lake. For a reasonable price you get a 100% natural thermal lake with real lotuses, friendly lake visitors including friendly senior citizens, all walking distance from major hotels. A MUST DO for travellers to Lake Balaton.

We stayed one night in Heviz with the sole purpose of visiting the lake and we weren't disappointed. Ok it is a little bit smelly but that was to be expected and forewarned if you have read about it online, this was due to the thermal qualities of the water. We bought a 3hr ticket as we went in the... More

It's just a big pool of warm water (rather dirty right now...) with a big, ugly building over it. The village is good for couples over 60 years old. You may like its quietude, it's perfect! Food....forget it, usual hungarian cusine (not for vegeterian), a terrible pizzeria, a chinese restaurant....Don't go out of your way for it, if you want... More

My family and i went to have a lovely day there yesterday and we did, swimming and enjoying massages... We got a family ticket for what we thought was for the day, nothing indicated to us otherwise and on leaving.. well thats where it all went wrong. We were yelled at by two staff who did not speak any english,... More
