It was particular hot when visiting but plenty of big umbrellas to sit under and enjoy people watching, have drink or two. meeting place and not just tourists there.

You can go to szentendre by boat on danube in about 80 minutes and come back to budapest by bus, or by train, if you want to go back by boat you should wait about two hours more.
