I visited the factory showroom in 2008 and purchased what was described to me as a "platinum" bracelet and ring inset with amethyst. It cost approx £360. I have recently tried to get a valuation and sell the jewellery only to be told its not platinum, white gold or even silver! and is just pretty costume jewellery

On a recent visit to Budapest, our travel group stopped for a vist at Caprice's museum/showroom. The guide was personable, the museum small and devoted to local historical jewelry. This jewellery factory is an utter rip off and is on the outskirts of Szentendtre. Whilst I cannot comment on the cutting of the stones, the settings are badly made and the prices are far higher than the UK. Avoid at all costs
