The castle looks quite nice when you're looking up at it from downtown Bratislava, but it's hardly worth a visit. It was burned to the ground in 1811 and not rebuilt until the 2nd half of the 20th century.

Great views from the castle of the city and towards Austria but renovations limit the internal view.

Bit of a walk up but the views over the danube and beyond are spectacular.

The Castle is a good spot to see Bratislava and surroundings but not very interesting per se (if you come from a country where castles are a common feature of the landscape).

Once you get there, that's it! The castle was burnt down in 1811 and they started rebuilding it in 1953. It's still not complete. You can't get inside as they haven't finished 'decorating' or sourcing appropriate furniture we were told. Definitely worth a trip. The Castle is under reconstruction, but the parts that are open are very impressive! I can't wait till it's done so I can go back. =)

I did not go into the castle because I arrived in Bratislava too late in the evening, but the castle was a small, picturesque castle. It provided a wonderful view of the city and is seated beautifully atop a hill overlooking the city. It is a great way to get stunning photos as well as get your bearings of Bratislava.... More

You can't go to Bratislava and not go here. It's beautiful and well maintained, lots of good photos to be taken here

The castle has recently been renovated and unfortunately not a lot of the original building exists. The original gates and some statues are still there but the inside of the caste looks like a modern apartment block. Good place to see the Danube and the UFO Observation deck and parts of the old town however.
