We spent a few hours in Bratislava Old Town with the tour we did from our river cruise. We did a walking tour and were pleasantly surprised with the pretty little old part of Bratislava. It's full of cobble stoned streets, pretty old buildings, many quite dilapidated buildings, a lovely town square surrounded by lovely buildings including the town hall,... More

Bratislava doesn't get much credit. It's right near Vienna, and looks very similar, with the same river running through it. Okay, so there's the communist remnants that industrialize it a bit, but that stuff is pretty cool. Some of my favorite public art in B-town is old communist stuff. The old town has a good deal of restaurants and shops... More

It is well worth walking through to the river via the old town. Enjoy the restaurants.

We spent 5 hrs in Bratislava as we were staying in Vienna and it´s recommended to just go for few hours because we were able to visit the castle, blue church,Čumil the worker status and many others, the parliament and it´s great to be there, the people are so friendly. you will love it

This is an easy day trip from Vienna, but it would be worth staying here for a couple of nights. The centre is quite compact, but full of interest.

The old town is quaint and compact. I agree with a previous reviewer, only stay one day and night as a 'rest' stop between Budapest and Vienna. You can comfortably see the whole are of 'old town Bratislava' in hours. There is free wifi in the old town which is a bonus. If you get lost don't panic just keep... More

Love the architecture and the statues. It's a fun place to just sit and people watch, but definitely take one of the free walking tours as well so you can know and appreciate the history and culture.

Bratislava's Old Town has a lot of street cafes/bars and several places are full of people even late at night. It's a nice place to hang around and drink beer :)

The old town is about half a mile square and pedestrianised. Full of restaurants and bars most of which are excellent value. Beer and food very cheap. Lots of cultural sights and churches tom see before settling down for a beer and people watching. Go up to the castle for great picture oportunities and views over the old town and... More

Definitely worth a visit, but I was here for 4 days and I seriously went over board. Saw everything 3 times and was practically running tours by my fourth day. A great stop off between Budapest and Vienna, but that is about it
