Saw in 2009. Don't miss the murals in the bookstore and the ones nearby that were painted surreptiously during Soviet times.

This is one of the oldest universities in Europe. The quiet campus and many hundreds of years of architecture and tradition make it a pleasant and convenient part of a walking tour of old Vilnius.

Be sure to check out the courtyard area by the chapel and the library. There is a small gift shop upstairs, just look for the sign. Some of the items for sale are art works by students.

wander through the interlocking courtyards, check out the church and the gardens and the outdoor art. A nice break and a good place for a break with a coffee and snack

The main campus is in the old town, next to the presidental palace and well worth a visit. The university is steeped in history and do try and do a tour of the buildings.........some of the study rooms for students are absolutely beautiful. A trip up the bell tower is a must as the views across the city are superb... More

The hidden gem in Vilnius is the University courtyard system. Some are restored, they lovely and beautiful, some work in progress. Can't wait, to see he hole complex. Still, gives you a very interesting insight to the culture of the city.

We entered the University simply to see the bookshop ceiling frescos but were unpleasantly surprised to find the library locked up after having paid a bit of money to enter the university grounds. This was disappointing. The courtyard area did make for a nice stop to rest our feet, this was nice. While we're not sure exactly how to find... More

It's possible to get in and walk around without buying tickets, just excursions inside without fee are not tolerated. It's an open public place otherwise.
