A beautiful, well preserved yet vibrant area of Vilnius...lots of pavement cafes and places to relax and soak up the atmosphere.

I had a personal tour of Old Town to start my visit in Vilnius. It helped me to orient myself in the tangle of old buildings, many churches and curving cobblestone streets. I felt comfortable enough to wander for an entire day myself and found charming cafes and shops on my own.

This is one of the more spread about old towns I have visited. Stumbled across a great market selling really nice souvenirs, handpainted items, some made from wood others from pottery. This was just indicative of the character and style of this place. Really worth a visit.

A marvelous walk through another time. Great shops. On my first trip in 2009 I bought a little original painting and textiles. This time I was only there for a short time. I want to go back, and stay in the Domus Maria near the Gates of Dawn.

Old town looks nice. However, you clearly see that the economy is not the greatest as a lot of places outside the main walking streets are run down. But, that is interesting in itself :)

I've been to loads of cities in Europe - and this must rank as one of the best. It combines, grand squares, fine buildings, narrow picturest streets, rustic riverside walks, loads of shops bars and restaurants. Although you are in the middle of a sizeable city it has none of the hustle and bustle of most cities and it is... More

Lots of lovely little streets and alleyways. Wall to wall churches, lots of posh shops, nice restaurants and bars with ouside areas. Vilnius Gatve has some great bars on it. Piles Street is the heart iof the old town and has some lovely but pricey restaurants.

Lots of churches. University buildings and grounds. The castle on the hill. No need for public transport. Easy to walk.

Very very small, but with a lot of narrow beautiful streets and cute cafes in them. Adorable place in spring and summer to spend your free day walking around and to spend your evening in one of outdoor cafes.
