Went on this 2.5 hour free guided tour of Riga, it was very interesting and informative and gave a view of Riga outside of the old time. We met outside St Peter's Church at 12:00 (just look for the person with the yellow suitcase). The walk met at St Peter's and not the very nearby Town Hall. The walk starts... More

Look for the yellow suitcase by the town hall at 12.00 and you´re in for a treet. It´s a free tour but do remember to tip the guide a couple of lats. It will last for about 2-3 hours and you will see all the interesting things OUTSIDE the old town.

Found the tour guide holding the yellow suitcase at the exact time the tour was supposed to start from St Peter's Church. Even though we were 49 people on the tour, the guide managed to show the group the real Riga in a fun and quirky way. The walking tour was very informative and we were guided through e.g. the... Very nice opportunity to see a tiny bit of riga that's outside the old town: the huge central market, the soviet-style science faculty, some art nouveau and a guide that can answer all your weird questions about Lativa!

A wonderful tour around Riga for anyone who likes to see the city by walking around instead of taking the bus. Short enough to attend even if you're on a short weekend break, but long enough to actually see many points of interest. If you do one tour in Riga, do this one!!

We were shown Riga in a very friendly informal way. Taken to places that we would not otherwise have visited. We got to know the guide and recent Latvian history rather than just facts and figures.

An excellent start to the trip, gave you a different slant on Riga. Although the tour took just over two hours it was fast and informative and he squeezed in lots of information about Riga and the surounding areas. It was a bit of a taster. If you liked what you saw you could revisit at a more leasurely pace... More

Decided to do the tour on day two of our three-day trip so had to find our bearings first. The old town is a bit of a maze of cobbled side streets, and when we misread the map, we nearly did not make it. Lo and behold, the little yellow suitcase was firmly parked outside St Peter's Church with smiley... More
