Back in time, a great museum with different pieces that allows to understand the evolution of commerce in the city and its historic timing.

The house of Blackheads was absent for decades and there was a nice square in the very centre of city. For me it is totaly incomprehensible, why this building was built again . Of course, it is visually nice and there is some exposition inside now, but it is just a decoration and sample of stupidity to spend millions for... More

A 'must see' in Riga, the outside of the (rebuilt) building is very interesting and it houses the main tourist information office. We paid the 4 Lats entry to the building and walkd around its grand halls, and many exibits from its glorious past. There were also some art exibitions on whilst we were there and these were covered in... More

The museum is interesting and nice and the place itself is very beautiful. The ballrooms and the basement were really impressive. The house is nicely restored and... More

We went through the museum later in the day and needed more time. It is a very nice museum. The outside of the building is one of the prettiest in Riga.

The House of Blackheads does not just house the Tourist Information Centre. What a building - completely reconstructed after it was destroyed in 1941. Our visit was very informative. I particulary enjoyed the film about the history of Riga and Latvia which depicted in great detail with archive footage, the occupations of the country by the Germans and the Russians... More
