The zoo itself is rather average, in comparison with zoos in other countries.

Quite a poor collection if you are going to compare it to some famous European zoo's, but still enjoyable as one of the richest collections in Northerrn and Eastern Europe.

It is a nice time spending close to nature and animals.

My daughter was at full delight! The Zoo occupies a large territory, so we could spend there half a day. It's a nice place for a family rest.

Take tram 11, from the city, to the end of the line at Mezaparks and walk the 100 yards to the entrance. The zoo is a very good with a selection of animals. The animals are kept well. There was a special offer of LVL 1 per person in the evening but the regular price is also affordable. A very good zoo, recommended for families with children.
