Just 30 min drive from Riga wonderful place to relax and to hear old legends about these castles during the ages. Near the castle the Dainu (Latvian folklore) park is developed.

Almost every state in Europe must have place where somebody try to built alive history. In one of most magnificent places of Latvia once was been serious stronghold. For last 70 years people want to built ir again with maximum authenticity.

We got the train to Sigulda out of Riga. Really enjoyed our visit to Turaida Castle, beautiful place with amazing views.

it is great and expositions are very good. only as you need to go some 60 km out of Riga with train or rented car. but it is worse it!

I suggest to visit Turaida one time when there are no leaves on trees, when you can see landscape and other time in summer when everything is green. Exciting way to explore history through interactive programm which is in museum

Very beautiful place to visit in Gold Autumn (in September), when all trees are yellow, red and orange.

I liked about everything about this castle. There are exhibits featuring the medieval usage of many of the rooms in the castle, such as the dungeon, chapel, tower, etc. The grounds are quite large, however, so come prepared to walk.
