Definitely worth going to see. Bring something long-sleeved to wear inside, as it is quite cool inside. As for the 10 zloty's extra to take photos- don't bother paying- it's purely a cash grab, and no one checks to see if you have paid to take photos anyways. The Wieliczka Salt Mine is one different sight from the usual museums, buildings and town centres that visitors to Europe usually see. If you are going to Krakow, do visit the salt mine at Wieliczka - it is truly amazing! We made our own way there by bus - 5 zloty each return (about £1). Once there you the tours are compulsory (45 zl each). It's worth paying the extra 10 zl to be able take your own photographs. Don't miss it! more

Wieliczka Salt Mine UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1978. You can only enter the actual salt mine with a tour group, so look at the board just on the inside left of the entrance to see when the tours start.
