A unique attraction and ingenious way to turn a disused potential architectural eyesore into a credible feature in it's own right. (It's housed in a concrete water tower atop the old town's highest point)

I would recommend the camera obscura it is well worth seeing and is very old & Interesting. So if any of... More

The owner gave lots of information about the history of Tavira as he pointed out the various places on the camera. It was a very interesting visit and a reasonable price (3 euro).

Interesting to see. The owner gives good info on Tavira and the history of the camera obscura, but adds a little too much about how England has gone down the pan since he lived there!

I think we were expecting more than what we got. The gentleman who was doing the commentary was possibly the most negative person we have ever come across. No -one should be that disgruntled and be in the public eye.

We visited on a beautiful blue sky day. It was picture perfect. The guide was well informed and recounted the history of the area.

Tavira is a lovely town so well worth spending some time having a wander around. While there we made a visit to the Camera Obscura, this attraction is sign posted aroudn the town so you should be able to locate it without much difficulty. Cost €3 per adult so not expensive, located on top of an old water tower close... More
