The centre includes wild bird recovery areas, endangered bird and gecko breeding enclosures, and an ecotour among native bush. Day/half-day trips include a boat cruise from Picton on the stunning Queen Charlotte Sound, and an optional walk on the Queen Charlotte Track. I biked in to Lochmara on the Queen Charlotte Track from Anakiwa - this ranked as some of the best mountain biking I have done in NZ. Lochmara was tranquil, relaxing and welcoming. I worked here for 2 weeks. It was amazingly peaceful. Hammocks everywhere. Random Sculptures in the bush. Managers were awesome and the brownies in the cafe where amazing. more
