The views and bays along the QC track on a quiet winter weekday make you feel you are in paradise. Biking the QC track is excellent, with lots of good downhilling along narrow tracks, but also a few steep hills which you have to push up. We did the QC track on mountain bikes rented from Marlborough Sounds Adventure Company,... more

This four to five day track can be done in its entirety or just a section at a time. While no roads exist, much of it is accessible vi water taxi from Picton. I highly recommend the five-day boutique lodge independent walk (unlike the Routeburn and Miford tracks, you don't need a guide on this one.) This package is well... more

We joined 4 friends as part of 16 people on the Marlborough Sounds guided walk of Charlotte Track. Some did the 5 days, others other 4 days and some due to time constraints just 2 days. Overall the weather was fine in the low 20's just perfect for walking. The group got on well and there was no tension between... more

We were interested to read the comprehensive review of a guided walk recently undertaken by two members of a group of six people, with our company. We have a strong customer focus and for that reason feel compelled to respond to some of the comments made by the reviewer. We have also taken on board the other comments made and...

I walked this part of the QCT many a time. Beautiful. Peaceful. I am from Canada, so when i hear noises in the woods, i think bear and run. I was running when i realized that there are no bears. Actaully, nothing dangerous. It was a wild pig... more

If you only have a day or two to spend in the Marlborough Sounds or in Picton, doing part of the Queen Charlotte Track will still give you a taste of the beautiful scenery and the great people you can meet on this wonderful walking track. We walked from Resolution Bay to Furneaux Lodge, recommended because it was the least... more

Having never been on a walking tour I typed 'four day hike" into my computer and found the Queen Charlotte Trek, and then by fluke, Natural Encounters. I had never even been to New Zealand and since I had persuaded my sister to join me from England, I approached Picton with some trepidation. But luck was on our side; the... more

We did a day trip from Picton to the Queen Charlotte track with Beachcomber cruises. The boat left us at Torea Bay and we walk to Mistltoe Bay where the boat picked us up and took us back to Picton. This part of the track is wonderfully scenic, with lots of views on both Kenepuru and Queen Charlotte Sounds on... more

We went on a guided hiking tour of the Queen Charlotte track. Our guide, Greg Thomson of Natural Encounters, was extremely knowledgeable about the flora and fauna that could be found along the trail. In addition to his knowledge he was friendly, funny and accommodating. The trail is 71 km. and winds its way along the coastline of the Queen... more

I just finished walking the Queen Charlotte Track and loved every minute of it! I went on a guided walk with Natural Encounters. Greg, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of New Zealand. It was fun not only to see all the beautiful sights of the Queen Charlotte Track, but also know what I was... more

The Queen Charlotte Track is a superb route through natural vegetation including fantastic tree ferns. Everywhere there are lovely views of the Marborough Sounds. I think it's great that both mountain bikers and walkers can enjoy it. We hired some good quality bikes from The Marborough Sounds Adventure Company in Picton, before catching the water taxi to Waterfall Bay. From... more
