Get the info on distillery locations but then get off the parkway and go through Versailles and connect the dots! Continue on 1510 to see the old distillery buildings but be aware that the road really narrows and turns to gravel for about two miles but very nice ride. The scenery is incredible. It goes past three abandoned distilleries and... More

Kentucky is known for three things: horses, bluegrass (the music AND the plant) and bourbon. Of course, we love horses and music’s great, but everyone has to experience the bourbon trail at least once in their life – even if they don’t enjoy alcohol because each glass of bourbon produced in Kentucky tells a story of the state’s founding and... We visited KY and worked our way along the Bourbon trail over 3 days. Wonderful experience - learned something new at each distillery. We completed all the required distilleries plus Buffalo Trace. Each one had its unique flair, (and taste - yum) but tour favorites are Jim Beam and Buffalo Trace. Beautiful country side for the traveler. KY has a... More

Myself and my wife completed the Bourbon trail today. We spent 2 days and had a lot of fun doing it as we are both Bourbon drinkers from Australia, which is the largest Bourbon market outside the USA. I think enough has been said below about each individual distillery and I believe, like the Bourbons themselves they are all to... More

We completed the trail over two days with our young kids in tow. It was fantastic and enjoyable each distillery was different and unique in its own way.

Traveling the Kentucky Bourbon Trail was a very fun trip for us. Visited all six on the trail plus Barton's and Buffalo Trace over 4 days. First visit was Makers Mark which set a high standard for those that followed. Makers was clean, polished, informative and in a beautiful setting. Closed the trail with Woodford Reserve, also setting a high... More

The Kentucky Bourbon Trail is one of the best times to spend time in Ky. You will learn Ky history as well as the different ways each distillery crafts their own recipe of bourbon. Most tours are free, the only one we paid for was Woodford Reserve - but we got to keep the shot glass. Our favorite over all... More

Had a great weekend in the Lexington area and exploring the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Each distillery has it's own story and charm. We didn't get to all of them, but the ones not to miss are: Woodford Reserve, Makers Mark, and Four Roses. It makes for a fun couples weekend away.

History! Science! Architecture ! are all involved with the making of bourbon. You will learn so much about this and it's not all about the alcohol.

We loved our Bourbon Trail experience at distilleries both on and off the actual marketed "Bourbon Trail." We took the tour at Woodford Reserve, which was a phenomenal place to check out how they still craft bourbon by hand. We had various tastings at many distilleries with Buffalo Trace and Four Roses being our favorites that were close to Lexington.
