I have been on this road twice now and I love it. The scenery is beautiful and you feel like you're truly in the wilderness. I have read other websites that say that the first (west) portion, up to the quarry, is suitable for passenger cars. I strongly disagree. I have a Jeep Wrangler and there were a few places... more

Bitter Springs is a great place to visit. Just go early. We drove my 4WD Isuzu Rodeo Sport (pretty high clearance) but still managed to scrape those skid plates up pretty good.
