We went to Mt. Marcy via Upper Works trailhead/Lake Colden. Stayed overnight near Feldspar lean-to. The top of Mt. Marcy is nothing short of amazing - absolutely breathtaking views. 15 mile round trip hike. gradual elevation gain makes for a fairly easy high with distance more of a concern than the elevation change. We made the round trip in 7-half hours at a stiff pace.

A challenging but rewarding hike. There's nothing per say hard about it outside of the fact that it's a long hard accent up. Good day! If your looking at taking a good hike that isn't to difficult, this is the mountain to start with. Its not overly difficult to navigate/hike up.
