2 weeks of Oregon in a nut shell! Last September (best weather, sunshine every day!) we went to Oregon, starting in Portland where we followed the Columbia River Gorge enjoying the many falls along the way and the Vista House Scenic Corridor area, then went down to Mount Hood to enjoy the lush forest and visit the Historic Timberline Lodge... My friend insisted that we go the the north west pacific coast although we we about 1 1/2hrs away. I must say that this was definitely a great choice and place to visit. The weather was great and the atmosphere was so peaceful and relaxing with only the waves crashing and the sea gulls to be heard. At night the... More

We were driving out west for a family vacation to see the Redwood Forest in California. We were driving from Wisconsin and stopped in Florence Oregon and stayed at Driftwood shores. We started looking at properties because we loved it so much there and ended up buying something. And have loved it since:)

We stayed 2 nights at the Surftides Hotel in Lincoln City. Nice view of the ocean and right on the beach. First night there, the fridge in the room started freezing everything in it. At 10:00 p.m., we called the front desk and Jeremy said to pull the unit out from the wall and look behind for a dial to... More

Yes, you can drive, or walk, the Oregon Coast from California to Washington as it all belongs to We, The People. And, to add a frosting to the delcious cake of the Oregon Coast, the plentiful Oregon State Parks are RV friendly, with electrical, water, and, some sites, septic. If beachcombing for miles along the sandy beaches tires you out,... More

If you love to crab, you can start at Astoria and head down Highway101. If you are in doubt about where the local crabbing hole is you can stop at any local Information station or just ask any local they are always very helpful. Have fun, the eating is great.

If there was one thing I always wanted to do I accoplished it this past summer. Drove the length of the Oregon coast. Had I known I would have spent more time exploring. If you love lighthouses this is the perfect drive for you.

The Oregon coast is such a magical spiritual place. If you haven't experienced it than you truly haven't lived! Take the time & stay in a yurt in the campgrounds cuz its cheap & find yourself again!

The scenery along the Oregon Coast is simply amazing. There is fantastic viewpoint after fantastic viewpoint. The weather can be wet and foggy at times, which really cuts into the enjoyment of the experience. The 5 day forecasts are now pretty good, and I would not make the trip if rain or fog is in the forecast. Hotel & restaurants... More

We - myself, my husband and 18 year old son along with our dog traveled the Oregon Coast this past August - last week in August and couldn't have asked for better weather! There was so much to see and explore - ideally I would have loved to have 10 days or so to take it all in to the... More
