Have visited VoTG twice and both times were incredible. Our older sedan made it through the gravel loop just fine but access through a small wadi could be difficult after a rainfall. The remoteness is enhanced by the fact you're not sharing it with hundreds of other people like at many of the SW's other natural attractions. Looking forward to... More

After driving through Monument Valley, we stumbled upon this area. It is absolutely beautiful, even from the highway, and there is no fee to drive the road through it (like there is in Monument Valley Tribal Park). The road is gravel, but our Honda Accord did just fine. If it's raining you may want to skip the drive though, as... More

This area rivals Monument Valley and is FREE! It is on BLM land. Unlike Monument Valley on the Navajo Nation, visitors can leave the road way and hike anywhere they want. The road is suitable for cars and trucks but I was glad I was not pulling a trailer or trying to travel this road in a bus. There are... More

After visiting monument valley,we drove through the valley of the gods. Although mv was nice with good views, the road however was very bad maintained and really bumpy. Im my opiniion the sights in valley of the gods were as good or even better as mv, the gravel roads very well maintained, less crowded and no admittance fee! overnight camping... More

This is a must see in Utah! It's very close to monument valley and is truly a hidden gem. We were overwhelmed with the breath taking views (it probably also helped that the weather was amazing that day). The roads are in better condition than Monument Valley and a great place to have a quiet lunch (my husband and I... More

I almost don't want to write a review to spoil it's natural spectacular and isolated beauty but this by far was one of our highlights in Utah including Zion and Bryce- Im shocked it isn't more advertised but being that it's on an Indian reservation, I see why- imagine complete isolation as you view incredible statuesque images of rocks resembling... Valley of the Gods road is 16 miles long 3 miles more than monument valley. The road conditions are similar but less traffic. All 16 miles are not interesting though if you have already done Monument valley. The most interesting formations are approx. in the middle of the drive approx. for 6 miles. But to get there you have to... More

if you're in monument valley, the valley of the gods drive is a must do. Some of the signs at the entry warn that under adverse weather conditions you need a high ground clearance vehicle. The weather was find and i had no trouble navigating it in a ford focus. There were a few moments where i wondered if i... More

A most wonderful drive through a desert delight. Quiet and as other reviews have stated an unpopulated version of Monument Valley, BUT.... as with any desert setting, if poking around out of your vehicle, please watch for Rattlers. I was with my sister and we stopped to picnic along a wash.. I took my 2 dogs for a walk up... More

We are from the UK and were touring North AZ. Driving from Chinle to Monunent Valley, we decided to go via Mexican Hat and I noticed this drive on the map - I'm glad I did! I was a bit nervous about the state of the road but needn't have worried. The surface was gravelly and hard. Some sections of... More
