When I-70 was being built, a Fremont Indian village was unearthed. Over 100 pithouses were found, and extensive archaeology work was completed before the road was finished. This was a great place to take small kids (and would be a great place if you don't have small kids). They have lots of great trails available to see petroglyphs and pictographs, one right next to the visitor center that is paved, which is great for everyone, but is a definite plus for people with small kids and people... More

The park boasts an incredible number of ancient Indian artwork, trails, updated visitors center, and plenty to see for both adults and children. This is such a cool place -- REAL Indian pictographs (writing and drawing) and petroglyphs (carvings) in the actual places where they were put by the Indians. An easy stroll around on paved path to see half a dozen or so of them, with more ambitions hikes to several more. Nice little museum and bookshop too -- we loaded up... More
