This is a beautifull cave with a lot of great formations. There are unique formations and a few bats.

While driving the length of the Blue Ridge Parkway in April, we saw the numerous brochures on cavern tours in this area of Virginia just west of the Parkway, we asked at the hotel, we asked at the ranger station each time getting a different recomendation, one had a "mirror maze"?, another a "car collection" yet another had numerous gift... A rainy day when we planned to hike so we went to Grand Caverns and were glad we did. We had to wait about 30 minutes for the next guided tour, but then we were up the stairway to the entrance and on our way. Our tour guide was experienced, our group was small (only 6), and we had a... More

We enjoyed this cave tour at Grand Caverns, and so did our small children. Plenty of different formations and shields to see to keep you in awe most of the tour. Guided tour takes a bit over an hour which is long enough to keep your interested. I would recommend this.

The caverns are one of VA"s best . The tour takes a little less than an hour and the guides do a great job . Some of the formations in the cave wer damaged many years ago but most are in tact and untouched . It is beautiful in there . This cavern also has very scenic grounds with a... More

We were looking for things to do outside of Massanutten Resort. This was a recommended place to visit through Massanutten. This is an amazing caverns that is well worth the visit. It is the oldest operating caverns in the U.S. The history of the caverns is narrated by a tour guide and is quite interesting! There are unusual formations that... More

My kids love the place. It's amazing even to little children. I avoided this place during the summer but apparently it is a constant 50 degrees all year round. Thus it would have been a nice place to go during the summer as well to get away from the heat. Print a coupon from their website and get a discount.

Amazing cave and very interesting, very organized tour and well worth it. You need to wear good walking shoes as there are slight inclines you need to go up but there are railings on the side.Guide does wait for the slower people to catch up to group and he is very informed and answers all questions.

After checking out reviews of the many caverns in the area, we decided to try this one. I wasn't disappointed. I don't know what to compare it to, but was thoroughly amazed by what I saw. So many different kinds of formations, and the guide could tell you about so many things, it was fun all the way through. Our... More
