Fortunately, I've see this many times, but if you visit in 2012, know that the reflecting pool is under repair from the earthquake last year.

the pool is undergoing work and is drained currently. Obviously a very busy attraction, and very busy. Great to see at night as well!!
The Lincoln Memorial is Amazing! Unfortunately the reflective pool is under construction, so the water was drained. If you visit Washington, make sure to find a parking lot as there is no where to park around here.
The memorial is as beautiful as always, but travellers should know that construction on the reflecting pool and in the surrounding area detract from the experience. Check the status of the construction - hopefully it is finished soon.

The reflecting pool is under renovation so it is somewhat disappointing, but the experience of the Lincoln Memorial is unforgettable. Take some time to sit near the top of the steps...

If visiting the Lincoln Memorial does not give you goose pimples, then you must have ice in you veins. The majesty of the statue, the words on the wall paint a picture of who this man was. Have been there at least three times, and each one is better than the last.
