Midday on a weekday proved next to impossible to move around. The food court was unbelievably crowded and not worth the wait. If you must be there, good luck if not, find somewhere else to shop and dine.

If you happen to be passing through, then great. An impressive building, lots of places to eat, shopping aplenty - but I cannot really recommend it as a destination in itself as there are far better building/shops/restaurants all ovfer the city.
Architecture; variety of restaurants; transportation hub for Amtrak, public buses, tour buses, Metro, taxis, hotel shuttles
The architecture is great to look at, and if you're in need of a quick bite to eat from familiar names, than it's a decent stop. But all in all it's better serving it's functional purpose than as a "destination"
The history associated with this building is amazing. I loved the Christopher Columbus memorial and the architecture. Sadly, since the earthquake, there is a lot of construction, scaffolding, and netting everywhere. Also, we were a bit disappointed that there wasn't a clear map posted or available at the main entrance to the station to help navigate the shops and restaurants.
This is a cool building, and train and metro station, but in the end, it is also a high end mall. Shops everywhere. I would say come here as a destination site, but if ou are catching the train, or need to hop the metro or boarding the tour trolleys, made time to check out the inside - it is...

Another beautiful building where the architecture will take your breath away when you walk in the main entrance. There are several restaurants, lots of shopping and a huge eatery below the main level that will have something to please everyone. Amtrak trains and Washington's Metro subways run here.
I'm a DC native, and this is one of my favorite spots. I love watching the tourists and locals cross paths, the little stores and cafes, and the beautiful building.
Originally build during the presidency of Ulysses S. Grant, it was a massive undertaking of limestone block and ingenuity. Restored to its former grandeur in the 1990's, you can see the lofty gold leaf rosettes that festoon its vaulted ceilings, offsetting the many shops and three stories of escalators that reach from the accessways to the train platforms that fan...
