For me this memorial was a personal one. My father served in the Vietnam War and I am a female veteran (although not a nurse). It's located next to the Vietnam Memorial. The statue depicts three nurses with a wounded soldier. Each of the women represent Faith, Hope, and Charity. Like all the other memorials, it's a great work of... More

Nice to see women's contributions recognized and celebrated especially in such a moving manner. While nurses/medics are not the only way women have historically served the over whelming numbers have been nurses so it is fitting that their contribution is so movingly depicted.

This is an extremely moving bronze statue, commemorating the largely unrecognized efforts of women (nurses) during the Vietnam War. It is excellent and long over due to remember the 10,000 women who served in Vietnam. Furthermore, it ties in to deaths and injuries of the combatants in this war. This memorial was added in 1993 to the Vietnam Memorial site.... More

Every time I visit the Vietnam Memorial I always go to the Women's Memorial there. It says so much about what they did doing that war. I think it is especially nice that at Memorial Day and Veterans Day holidays there is always a program of teaching put on by these veterans. It means so much to those that were... More

I'm not much into bronze reality sculpture but this has a quiet sweetness and well worth seeing in contrast to the nearby cool and awesome Vietnam Veteran's memorial. Then go over to the Korean Vets memorial and be grateful to our armed forces.

Well worth the trip to honor these women whose service was so long overlooked. Beautifully done.
