These two museums are often ignored despite being on the Mall downtown. This is probably because other more famous museums gets all the attention. I was thrilled with the collection of arts from China, India, Japan, ancient Egypt, Africa, and so much more. You almost feel as if you are walking through time with such a varied collection from all over the world. Great for history and art lovers, you'll want to live here and never come out! more
A trip to the Sackler and Freer museums was an excellent day trip while staying in Baltimore. The museums' focus is on Asian Art, and if you wander through the buildings (they are linked through their underground levels) you can go from Asian art directly into the African art museum.
