Touring the Capitol is a must when visiting Washington DC. It is impressive, and beautiful. Contact your congressperson or senator ahead of time to set up your tour. No lines, and you get to see things not on the walk up tour. Do not miss the Capitol!

A friend and I did a tour of the Capitol while we were in D.C. for 4 nights. I was amazed at the frieze on the ceiling of the rotunda. All the artwork, paintings, and sculptures is something every tourist to our Nation's Capitol should see!

Definitely get advance tickets for the Capitol tour! The rotunda was breathtaking and the hall of statues was a wonder! Dont miss the Capitol but get your advance tickets so you can get on a tour. See the movie, take the tour. Go in the afternoon when the crowds have let up. The guides will tell you so much you do not want to miss the tour!

The walk to and view from the top is lovely (get the same feeling as you would as you look from the Scare Coeur Paris), we also wandered behind the building and then rested in one of the garden which was completely emply this Easter Sunday - aaah sheer bliss!

The US Capitol is a beautiful building, and the grounds are exceptional. Take a tour of the building, and see the visitor's center. If you have done it once, there is not need to go back for a tour as they are the same as they were 20 years ago. There is a security check when entering.

We took our 2 teenagers on a trip to Washington D.C. We walked all around Capitol hill. Make sure to take the free tour of the Capitol. It's interesting whether or not you are an American citizen.
