It was a spur-of-the-moment decision for me to stop in at the Botanical Garden. I absolutely loved it. I did sight-seeing for a full week in Washington, DC and this was the only place that I returned to a second time. It was a very pleasant place to relax, stroll and "vegetate". Highly recommended. more

The gardens and conservatory is at the end of the mall near the Capitol. A convenient location to relax from the overcrowded and noisy museums. The variety of flora presented was amazing and beautifully displayed. more

Our family of 2 parents/ 2 teen girls really loved our visit to the US Botanic Garden. We went on an overcast windy day in March but inside the greenhouse it warm and toasty. Only wished they had a coat check. Beautiful orchid display and ponds with fountains; jungle room with catwalk; interesting exhibits on endangered species and plants with... more

The United States Botanic Garden is a great place to spend a few hours. However, it was VERY crowded when we went, because of the Windows to Wonderland exhibit, which by now has ended. If you are interesting in plants, you should take your time visiting, because there is so much to see, and it is time well spent. Each... more

I love this place. It's a secret gem right downtown, most people dont know about it but its wonderful. They have all kinds of plants, trees, flowers, orchids its a dream. Its also FREE. I love it all throughout the year, the only time NOT worth going is Christmas as they have tons of people there cramping the already hot... more

I really enjoyed my visit into the indoors portion of the botanic gardens. The place was a cool haven away from the humid and busy streets of DC. I was able to spend less than an hour and see the entire location. The orchid collection is wonderful as they are displayed as they would actually grow in a mist-filled rainforest.... more

I've grown up in the D.C. area and feel like I've seen most of the museums and attractions in the area. Many of them are amazing and wonderful but the US Botanic Gardens remain one of my favorites. It doesn't seem like it's very well-known, perhaps it's because it's overshadowed by the better-known museums and the Capital nearby. This is... more

The Botanic Garden in DC is a gem in the middle of the busy, crowded city. There is no cost, and when we were there on a Sunday, it was not crowded at all. Upon entering the courtyard room, you're greeted with wonderful scents like wisteria (only it wasn't wisteria). There's a bubbling, tiled fountain, and several recognizable plants along... more

This is a very neat place right next to the Capitol. It has a wonderful collection of plants from many different enviornments. My favorite was the collection of desert cactus. There are also two very nice exibit rooms where you can learn about plants. Besides the inside conservatory there are outside gardens around the building. The staff at the desk... more

A wonderful collection of beautiful things. I was very tired when we went in, and I felt wonderfully refreshed when we left. Nice lay out, feels good in there, and I bet the outside garden is terrific when it's in bloom. There is a beautiful glass sculpture outside in the garden, really stunning. more
